Lockhart residents spend more than $37 million a year in retail sales outside their city limits, according to a “leakage” study performed by the City of Lockhart, Texas in 2008.
The city’s current population has 13,750 residents, and it sits in Caldwell County, which had a population of 36,568 in 2008 (U.S. Census Bureau). Caldwell County’s population is anticipated to jump to more than 45,000 by 2015, and more than 55,000 by 2025, according to the Texas State Data Center.
But the residential population is not the only thing anticipated to boom. So will highway traffic. Average annual daily traffic counts for segments five and six of SH 130 are projected to be more 32,000 vehicle trips per day, according to MySH130.com. That statistic will grow to more than 51,000 by 2015, more than 72,700 by 2022, and more than 106,000 by 2032.
With the infrastructure extensions underway, Maple Park’s 57-acre development sites are zoned and shovel ready for your vision.
